On Wednesday, Iraqi parliamentary delegation arrived in Kuwait for an official two-day visit.
Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim held official talks with Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammad al-Halbousi and Iraqi delegation.
During the meeting, Speaker Ghanim congratulated Halbousi for being elected as the speaker and expressed appreciation for choosing Kuwait as the first country to visit since taking office.
The second Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Bashir al-Haddad of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) emphasized that “our visit to the State of Kuwait is important in expanding cooperation among the neighboring countries”.
The two Speakers reviewed bilateral relations and discussed means to develop cooperation between Kuwait and Iraq in all fields, especially the legislative sector.
Additionally Ghanim and Halbousi exchanged views on topical issues of common concern such as developments at both regional and international level.
Following the talks, Ghanim hosted a luncheon to honor the visiting delegation.
