The third Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Parliaments will be held from 8 to 11 of this October in Antalya, Turkey, gathering Speakers and Members of Parliaments from all over the world.
The MSEAP was founded upon the ROK National Assembly’s suggestion and positive response from the State Duma, the lower house of the Federal Assembly of Russia. In 2016 April, ROK and Russia co-hosted the first MSEAP in Moscow, Russia and decided to hold the second meeting in Seoul, Korea.
The objective of the MSEAP is to strengthen inter-parliamentary partnership among countries in the Eurasian region through multilateral, bilateral parliamentary diplomacy in diverse fields including economy, commerce, and cultural exchange.
The second MSEAP was co-hosted by the National Assembly of Republic of Korea and the State Duma of Russia in 2017 June in Seoul, Korea. Over 400 speakers and parliamentarians from 28 countries participated in the second MSEAP. The participants adopted the Seoul Statement that included the establishment of the MSEAP Cyber Secretariat. The Cyber Secretariat, proposed by the ROK Parliament Speaker in the second meeting, as a means to facilitate exchange of information and promote cooperation, is currently under management of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea.
The third MSEAP will be co-hosted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the National Assembly of ROK and the State Duma of Russia. The main theme of the meeting is “Economic Cooperation, Environment and Sustainable Development in Eurasia”.
The program of the meeting consists of Plenary Sessions in which each Head of Delegation delivers keynote speech, and the Joint Statement Drafting Committee Meeting. Adoption of the joint statement is to conclude the plenary sessions of the third MSEAP.
