On June 10, members of the Azerbaijan-Turkey working group on inter-parliamentary relations (Azerbaijani Parliament) and Turkey-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group (Grand National Assembly of Turkey) held a video conference regarding COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Chaired by Akhliman Amiraslanov, Chairman of the Health Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament, the meeting started with Amiraslanov emphasizing the importance of friendship between the two countries and stressed that the meeting was organized on the initiative of the heads of the two parliaments.

 

Azerbaijani members stated that as measures were swiftly taken into action under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, they were able to witness substantial improvement in the fight against the virus. In response, Head of the Turkey-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group Shamil Ayrim also addressed the current situation regarding COVID-19 in Turkey. Concluding the video conference, Amiraslanov stated that the heads of the two countries have set specific goals in strengthening ties between the countries, and will work together in multidisciplinary nature.
