On Monday, Syrian Ambassador Mohammad Ahmad Haj Ibrahim visited President of the National Assembly of Armenia Ara Babloyan.
Speaker Babloyan said that Armenia will continue productive cooperation with Syria. He also expressed the hope that the ambassador will contribute to strengthening and developing Armenia-Syrian relations.
Ara Babloyan noted the development of interparliamentary cooperation and expressed appreciation to the Syrian legislature for its actions toward the recognition of the Ottoman-era massacres of Armenians as a genocide.
Babloyan also commented that Armenia is ready to take part in rebuilding Syria.
In turn, Ambassador Ibrahim assured that he will put utmost efforts to develop Syria-Armenia relations and noted potential in economy.
Mohammad Ahmad Haj Ibrahim also underscored the importance of Syrian Armenian community’s role for the development of Syria-Armenia relations.
