"China is willing to move faster in dovetailing the Belt and Road Initiative with the Middle Corridor project, steadily promote cooperation on trade, investment, science and technology, energy, infrastructure and major projects and actively seek cooperation in small and medium-sized programs and those that benefit the people, to deliver concrete benefits to more enterprises and the people," the Chinese president said.

Xi also called for expanding people-to-people exchanges and tourism cooperation for better mutual understanding between the two peoples, to solidify the popular support for China-Turkey friendship.

He urged both China and Turkey to deepen the strategic cooperative relationship, guard the common interests of both nations as well as developing countries at large and jointly forge a new type of international relations featuring mutual respect and fairness.

Voicing firm support for the Belt and Road Initiative, the Turkish president said he hopes the two sides can step up cooperation in areas such as trade, investment and 5G networks as well as exchanges in educational, cultural and scientific research sectors.

Vyacheslav Volodin, the Speaker for the Russian State Duma, has accepted the invitation to visit the United Arab Emirates by the Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council Amal Al Qubaisi.

When Volodin and Qubaisi had a meeting, they discussed solutions to the Syria crisis, and the UAE Parliamentary Speaker was very grateful to Russia for protecting the civilians in Syria and for retaking the country from terrorists. She expressed the hope that over 250,000 Syrian refugees would be able to return to homeland from the UAE.

“Russia had liberated over 80% of Syria’s territory from terrorists. The UAE stands up for political but not military solutions. And we want to cooperate with Russia in order to help Syrian citizens and to support the Syrian parliament,” Qubaisi said.

In the meantime, Volodin pointed out that Russia and the UAE had reached a new level of strategic cooperation.

“Our leaders do their best to develop relations between our states. As far as we are concerned, we must do our utmost to forge ties, to increase trade, to get to know each other better,” he said.

He added, “It could be right if we should ponder over finding new forms of cooperation.”
