SUBJECT Russian parliamentary delegation visits the deputy speaker of the Mongolian parliament

On November 19th, Russian parliamentary delegation led by Andrei Klishas, the chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building.

 

During the meeting, Deputy Speaker of the State Great Khural, the unicameral Mongolian parliament, Luvsantseren Enkh-Amgalan said Mongolia hopes to further strengthen ties with Russia in economy, trade, and investment.

 

Head of the Mongolia-Russia inter-parliamentary group Enkh-Amgalan also made a remark expressing hope on Monday.

 

Enkh-Amgalan said “the potential of trade, investment and economic cooperation between Mongolia and Russia has not been realized yet. The two countries need to put in more efforts and improve business as well as legal environment to further strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation in these fields”.

 

Russian MP Andrei Klishas stressed the important role of the Mongolia-Russia interparliamentary group in achieving further cooperation between the two legislative bodies.

 

Last month, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu paid an official visit to Ulanbaatar, where he met Mongolian Prime Minister Ukhnaa Khurelsukh and Mongolian Defense Minister Nyamaa Enkhbold. The parties signed a long-term program enhancing the countries’ military ties through cooperation in armed forces management, joint exercises and military education.

 

The two defense ministers emphasized Russia and Mongolia’s traditionally amicable relationship with long history and shared approaches on urgent issues in the international arena.

 

The trade volume between the two countries amounted to 1.4 billion USD, with 46.9 percent increase from 2016.
