On December 4th, Speaker of the National Assembly of Kuwait Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim hosted the French parliamentary delegation.
The delegation of the French Senate was led by Chairman of the French-Gulf Friendship Committee Senator Jean Bockel.
The two parties discussed ways to strengthen the bilateral relations at the parliamentary level. A number of MPs and French ambassador took part in the meeting.
On the same day, French Minister of the Armed Forces Florence Barley met Deputy head of Kuwait National Guard Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. During the meeting, the Kuwaiti deputy head received French Legion of Honor, the highest French order of merit awarded for military and civil merits.
Congratulating the Kuwaiti deputy head, the French Minister said the medal was awarded in recognition of his role in improving military relations and cooperation between Kuwait and France.
A written message of French President Emmanuel Macron was also presented at the meeting, which recalled a large-scale joint military exercise called “Pearl of the West” finished a few days ago. The French president wrote that the demanding exercise illustrated the deep relationship between France and Kuwait.
French Minister Barley thanked the Kuwaiti authorities for warmly welcoming the delegation and extended the invitation to visit France.
